CALL FOR SPEAKER PROPOSALS

The Centenary College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has scheduled the Business Leaders’ Forum on Saturday, March 28, 2009, from 8:00AM until 5:00PM. The event location will be Centenary College, Hackettstown, NJ.
 
INTRODUCTION
 
The purpose of this public event is to increase awareness of the resources and connections available to emerging and established businesses in Morris, Sussex and Warren counties. This includes access to capital resources and procurement, strategic alliance, employment/placement, business development/growth and networking opportunities.
 
To facilitate this goal, the SBDC has created an event format that includes panel discussions, workshops, exhibits, and networking and employment/placement opportunities. The fee for this event gains the business owner full-day access to all resources.
 
CALL FOR SPEAKER PROPOSALS
 
Centenary College SBDC is pleased to announce that it is accepting Speaker Proposals for the Business Leaders’ Forum. Those interested in participating must read the following information carefully, complete the Speaker Questionnaire, and sign the Statement of Acknowledgement. We must receive your proposal no later than December 5, 2008. Our selection committee will award participation slots no later than
December 12, 2008.
 
Centenary College SBDC is energized by the tremendous potential for our partners, strategic alliances, business consultants, business owners, and clients who participate in the Business Leaders’ Forum. We hope that you will be part of creating business synergies across the county.
 
I. Scope of Services
  1. Speakers will NOT be paid and must consider this an opportunity to showcase their services and as a method to contribute to Centenary College Small Business Development Center.
  2. Presenters are required to provide one hour of service; panel participants are required to provide two hours of service.
  3. All speakers are required to arrive 30 minutes prior to their presentation to check in and set up. No exceptions will be granted.
  4. Speakers will receive a one meal ticket and access to the full day’s activities at no charge.
  5. Speakers MAY display promotional literature on an information table located in the Forum’s
    registration area.
  6. Promotional bios will be available to the public as part of the advance registration information.
 
II. Proposal and Submission Guidelines
 
All speakers will provide a proposal containing the following items:
  1. Speaker Questionnaire: The questionnaire contains speakers contact information, references, and a detailed summary of their proposed presentation.

     

  2. Statement of Acknowledgement: The speaker must sign the attached acknowledgement of the proposal’s content and agree to abide by the event provisions as determined by the Centenary College Small Business Development Center. Statements may be submitted by email (with a digital signature), by U.S. mail or by fax. Unsigned statements will constitute an incomplete proposal and will not be reviewed.

All proposals will be acknowledged by email.
 
All proposals become the property of the Centenary College Small Business Development Center and cannot be returned.
 
Speaker selections will be awarded no later than December 12, 2008.
 
Speaker notifications will be made by email and telephone contact.
 
 
Centenary College Small Business Development Centers’ intention is to offer a variety of presentations highlighting emerging, growing, and maturing businesses during the Business Leaders’ Forum. All proposals will be evaluated by Centenary College Small Business Development Center staff.
 
Centenary College Small Business Development Center reserves the right to decline consideration for incomplete, inaccurate, or unsupported proposals. Centenary College Small Business Development Center may contact eligible consultants for additional information and clarification.
